What are the advantages of Solar Lighting? (For more info on Solar Lights or other home products go to CSN Stores)
1. Solar lights use LED bulbs which usually never burn out during the life of your solar light product.
2. Solar lights save you money. Free to operate, no replacement bulbs to buy and no electricity cost.
3. Easily installed.(No wiring needed)
4. Easily moved from one place to another.
5. Earth friendly, powered by the sun's energy and therefore reduces global warming.
What is an LED?
Solar lights have LED bulbs. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which contains the chemical compound that gives off light when electricity is passed through it. This technology has been around for a long time, but as of recently the advanced technology has made it possible to be bright enough to be used as a single light source.
How much light is produced by an LED?
LED's put out a very large amount of light for their size and the energy used. They produce almost no heat and use very little electricity. LED's use about 1/10 the power of an incandescent bulb and are up to 90% more efficient than the same wattage fluorescent and neon bulbs. The best thing is these bulbs will last for thousands of hours, compared to a flashlight bulb which last only a few hundred hours. Therefore being much more efficient and eco friendly.
Facts on global warming.
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and the oceans since the mid-twentieth century and its projected continuation. Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the last century.[1][A] The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that anthropogenic greenhouse gases are responsible for most of the observed temperature increase since the middle of the twentieth century,[1] and that the natural phenomena such as solar variation and volcanoes probably have had some small degree of warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect afterward.[2][3] These conclusions have been basicly endorsed by more than 40 scientific societies and academies of science,[B] including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries.[4][5]
Climate model projections summarized in the latest IPCC report indicate that global surface temperature will most likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century.[1] The uncertainty in this estimate arises from the use of models with differing climate sensitivity, and the use of differing estimates of future greenhouse gas emissions. Some other uncertainties include how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most studies focus on the period up to 2100. However, warming is expected to continue beyond 2100, even if emissions stop, because of the large heat capacity of the oceans and the long lifetime of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.[6][7]
Increasing the global temperature will cause sea levels to rise and will change the amount and pattern of precipitation, likely including expansion of subtropical deserts.[8] The continuing retreat of glaciers, permafrost and sea ice is expected, with the Arctic region being particularly affected. Other most likely effects include shrinkage of the Amazon rainforest and Boreal forests, increases in the intensity of extreme weather events, species extinctions and some changes in agricultural yields.
Thoughts About Solar Lights
When you consider buying solar lights we suggest you look at stainless steel, plastic, bronze coated or some type of material that will not weather or rust. We have seen to many steel based lights that rust way too soon and ruin their appearance. This will save you money in the long run.
